Anne Hathaway Chops Off Her Hair

Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman (FameFlynet Pictures) Anne Hathaway admitted she's had to lose some weight for her role in the Les Miserables remake, but she failed to mention she had to chop off her long hair! The actress surfaced in London early Sunday morning with her tresses cut extremely short.
Hathaway will play Fantine in the upcoming film, a prostitute with a terminal case of tuberculosis who sells her hair to provide for her daughter. It's definitely a heavier role than we're used to seeing the Princess Diaries in, and now she joins the ranks of other A-listers who've lopped off their locks for their art. Remember Demi Moore's famous GI Jane buzz cut? More recently, Natalie Portman shaved her head for V for Vendetta.
Les Miserables is set to hit theaters in December 2012. Perhaps Hathaway's flowing locks will have somewhat grown back before the big premiere.
